So, what is it?

Vehicle rust protection involves applying a specially formulated coating to your vehicle’s underbody, wheel wells, and other high-risk areas. This durable barrier shields the metal surfaces from moisture, salt, and corrosive elements—helping to prevent rust and corrosion before they start. The result is long-lasting protection that preserves the structural integrity and value of your vehicle.

What is the process for the underbody?

Before applying underbody rust proofing, thorough preparation is essential to ensure maximum protection and a flawless finish.

We begin by hoisting the vehicle and removing the wheels and any bash plates. The entire underbody is then meticulously cleaned and degreased. To protect the rest of the vehicle—including any custom suspension or exhaust components—we wrap it completely in plastic, preventing any overspray on paintwork.

Any existing rust is treated chemically, utilising Endrust's Rust Converter, Primer, Sealer, before the underbody is coated in Endrust Rustproofing Sealant. You can choose between a Clear, Bituminous or Gloss Black finish, depending on your preference. More severe cases of rust can be physically removed by blasting, scraping, or sanding. Once the coating is dry, we reinstall the wheels and finish the process with a complimentary exterior wash—leaving your vehicle protected, refreshed, and ready for the road.

Why is Rust Proofing Important?

  • Prevents Structural Damage:
Rust weakens metal over time. Left untreated, it can spread to critical parts like the chassis, suspension, and brake lines, compromising safety.

  • Extends Vehicle Life:
A rust-protected vehicle resists wear better, helping it last longer—particularly important if you plan to keep it beyond the warranty period.

  • Maintains Appearance:
Rust spots, bubbling paint, and flaking metal lower the visual appeal of your car and make it look older than it is.

  • Boosts Resale Value:
Buyers are far more likely to pay a premium for a well-maintained, rust-free vehicle.

  • Essential in Coastal or Harsh Climates:
Salt air and moisture accelerate corrosion. If you live near the coast or in an area where roads are salted, rust proofing is a smart preventive measure.
